Joseph E. Britto

Joseph E. Britto (Joey) was born December 20, 1934 to Miguel (Michael) Britto and Mary R. Sana Britto. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Patricia Britto of Providence, his daughter, Jo-Ann Tucker of Providence, son, Michael Robinson of Providence, and his brother, Robert A. “Bambi” Britto of Providence. Mr. Britto leaves six grandchildren, Sarah Tucker, Jacqueline Barrios, Jacob Barrios, Yolanda Monteiro (Yonnie), Monica Monteiro, and Jazz Monteiro as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Britto was preceded in death by his daughters, Beth Ann Robinson and Odessa Barrios, by his siblings Loretta Ann Harden, Dominga “Minnie” Soares, Alice Vaz, Virginia Johnson, Dorothy Schofield and Walter Enos.

Joseph was a well-known resident in the City of Providence. Retirement from a forty year career as a laborer gave him the luxury of being neighborly and of assistance to many. He enjoyed working on his various projects in and around his home and in the neighborhood. Most will remember his ever present smile, his hearty laugh and sharing in good conversation with him. He will be dearly missed by all.
