Mary Marlene Valentine quietly stepped out of this life and into the next, on Saturday January 13, 2018, surrounded by her sons.
Mary was born on May 3, 1937, in Kingstown RI, to John Monteiro and the late Marion (Winborne) Monteiro.
Mary received her education in the Providence Public School System.
She had worked for the RI Medical Center for several years and retired. She then worked as a cook for Oasis in Providence for several years.
In addition to her father, Mary is survived by her companion, James Mincey, of Providence, sons, Keven Monteiro, of Cranston, Ware, of Providence, Allen Ware of Pawtucket, and Anthony Ware, of Warren, daughters, Donna Monteiro of Phoenix, AZ and Cheryl Monteiro of Barrington, brothers, Michael Monteiro, of Newport and Harold Monteiro of Jackson, MS, sister, Linda Johnson of Lima, OH, 19 grandchildren, numerous greatgrandchildren. In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her husband, Cincinnati Ware, daughter, Deborah Ware, and brothers, Johnny Monteiro and David Monteiro.
Mary loved life and she loved her family. She enjoyed laughing with family and friends and she enjoyed good food. Her straightforwardness and good humor is celebrated and will be greatly missed.
