Michael Jerome Garlington

Michael Jerome Garlington, of Rutherglen Avenue, Providence, died Friday, December 2nd, at Saint Luke’s Hospital, New Bedford, MA.

Born in Portsmouth, VA, he was the son of the late James Walter Garlington and Ella Louise (Harris) Garlington.

Michael was previously employed with Rhode Island Hospital for several years as an operating room attendant. Michael was truly known for his talented dancing ability and an impeccable dresser with class to match. "Back in the day" he won numerous dancing awards. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was abundantly loved by his family and close friends. 
 

He is survived by sons,  Tyrone Campbell of East Providence and Devon Walker of Providence, sisters, Marilyn Garlington, Patricia Threats, Sharon Garlington, Gail Garlington, and Michele Garlington, all of Providence, and Ella Nash of Chesapeake, VA. Michael leaves three beautiful grandsons, Tyrone Jr., Tyrell and Tyree Campbell. He leaves to mourn a former companion and life long friend Della Davis.  He was the brother of the late James Walter Garlington Jr.
