Tanya Elena Norman

Tanya Elena Norman died unexpectedly in her own home on Monday, September 12th in Providence at the age of 50. Tanya was born in Stamford, Connecticut. Although she grew up and lived most of her years in Connecticut, Tanya has been a loyal resident of Rhode Island for the past 15 years. 

She is survived by her mother, Emma Norman; her two children, Timothy Norman and Cherish Norman, her sisters, Wanda Norman and Kimberly Norman, and her brother, Warren Norman.

She is preceded in death by her father, the late Louis Smith, her brothers, the late Warner Norman and Louis Norman, and her granddaughter, the late Samiah Lawal.    

Tanya split her time between Connecticut and Rhode Island in order to spread humor as well as her infectious and radiant smile to her family and friends. She was one of a kind, unique in her own way. She made friends everywhere she went and you couldn’t walk down the street without her stopping and talking to someone. She touched the lives of countless people, in numerous ways. She was an extremely funny, smart, generous and dedicated individual, who loved helping people. She was extremely passionate about changing the world and educating the youth on how to becoming great law abiding citizens within the community. She was an active and dedicated member of The Beloved Tabernacle of God Church and often gave to numerous fundraising events. If it had anything to do with improving the community and the people in it, she was glad to help in any way she could. 

Immediately following the Memorial Service a reception to follow at 6 Peach Avenue in Providence, RI 02906. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of Tanya Norman
