Guilherme Gonsalves Correia, a.k.a. William "Sonny" Correia, died Saturday, July 8th, at Hope Hospice and Palliative Care of Rhode Island.  He was the husband of the late Marjorie (Harris) Correia.

Sonny, as he was known to his family and friends, was born in North Providence, the son of the late Olimpia Guilherme Gonsalves Correia and the late Mabel (Sunders) Correia.

He served in WWII for Occupation Forces, after which he was a construction worker for 10 years for Dunlavy Construction. Later in life he began his career as an entrepreneur. 

Sonny leaves cherished memories with his sons; Richard Correia (Liza) of North Providence, Steven Correia, and William "Billy" Correia Jr (Shirley Lomba), all of Providence, daughters, Ruth Acorn of NH, Julie Ann (Correia) Goode (Curtis), and Naomi Rose Correia (Decoda Person) of Providence, brother, Domingo Gonsalves "Butch" Correia (Yvonne) of Long Beach, CA. Sonny also leaves precious memories with his grandchildren; Richard, Mackey, Thomas, Brandon, Billy III, Andrew, Mathew, Marcus, Kameron, Alma, Edema, Iyare, Reumilda, Vendita, Jounee, Alexis, Tempest, Christine Littlejohn, Charlee, Ebony, Candace, Darrchell, Helena, Steven - yes, all 24 of them! Sonny  also has 75 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Sonny will also be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by son, Ronnie Gall, brother, George Gonsalves Correia, sister Venedita, Martha (Correia) Campbell, grandchildren Daniel & Angel.
