Tillman "Joe" Black, 71, a retired bronze mold caster, of 100 Evergreen Drive, East Providence, died Saturday, August 30th, at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia (Hodge) Black.

Born in Bamberg, SC, a son of the late Jack Black and Eartha Lee (Bronson) Black.

Besides his wife, Joe is survived by five sons, Charles Black, Floyd Black, Carl Black, and Tillman Hodge, all of Providence, and Lewis Black of Houston, TX, five daughters , Josephine Gomes of Charlotte, NC, Joyce Black of Syracuse, NY, Eartha Drew of Birmingham, AL, Gloria Hodge and Lisa Hodge, both of Providence, and one brother, Harry Black of Boston, MA. He was the father of the late Joseph Black.

Funeral 10am Friday, September 5th, at Mount Zion Church of God, 375 Cahill Street, Providence; viewing will be 7-9pm Thursday, also in church. Burial will be in North Burial Ground.
