George R. Collins, 77, of Charles Street , Providence , Rhode Island passed away on August 9, 2009 at the Woonsocket Health Care Center. George worked as a maintenance worker for the Westminster Senior Center for many years. Born in Wilmington , Delaware , he was the son of the late Lewis and Lizzy (Johnson) Collins. He is survived by two daughters, Mary & Georgette, and a deceased son. Two brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert Collins and his wife Sarah, and Olin Collins of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Lula Mae Jackson of Providence, RI and Elvinia Moody of New Castle, Delaware and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 1:00 pm at Holy Cross Church Of God In Christ United, 1014 Broad Street , Providence , RI. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Hospice Care of Rhode Island.
