Albert M. Hackney Sr., 84, of Waldo Street, Providence, died Thursday, October 21 st , at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Maude (Boggs) Hackney. Born in Louisa, VA, he was the son of the late Joseph Hackney Sr. and Maude Eva (Lewis) Hackney. He was a World World II U.S. Army veteran. Besides his wife, he is survived by, son, Herbert Hackney of Providence, daughters, Bertha Barney of Louisa, VA, June Prim of Fredericksburg, VA, Barbara Mitchell of Conyers, GA, Joyce Turner of Summerville, SC, Gloyce Hackney and Carol Hackney, both of Providence, and Shirley Hackney of Fremont, CA, sister, Elsie Hamlett, and aunt, Edith Mickins of Washington, D.C. He was the father of the late Albert Hackney Jr. and Gilbert Hackney, and the brother of the late Fleming Hackney, Elex Hackney, Betty Brown and Louise Hackney. The funeral services will be held 1pm Saturday, October 30 th , at Laurel Hill Baptist Church, 7652 Kentucky Springs Road, Louisa County, VA 23117.
