Dorothy Lorraine (Stevens) Hazard
July 9, 1935 - January 18, 2009

Dorothy Lorraine (Stevens) Hazard, 73, of Atlas Street, Providence, died Sunday, January 18th, at home. She was the companion of Thomas Shelton.

Born in Providence, the daughter of the late Charles Speaks and Ida Mae Stevens.

She was employed 20 years by the Rhode Island Medical Center as a certified nursing assistant. She was a choir member at Maranatha Tabernacle Church Of God, and also served in their food pantry.

Besides her companion, she is survived by son, Carlton S. Hazard Jr. of Providence, daughters, Cheryl Butler of Powder Springs, GA, Trenda Hazard, Denise Hazard, and Misty Johnson, all of Providence, sister, Nancy LeTourneau of Providence, 29 grandchildren and 37 great, grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Charles Speaks, Barbara Daniels and Joyce Winston.

Funeral 11am Friday, January 23rd, at Maranatha Tabernacle Church Of God, 381 Manton Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Calling Hours 7-9PM Thursday in Bright Funeral Home, 290 Public Street Providence.
