Howard Eugene Hopper, 65, of Swan Street, Providence, died Saturday, January 2nd, at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the widow of Mary H. (Teacher) Hopper.

Born in Shelby, NC, he was the son of the late Mathew Hopper and Alberta (Hill) Hopper of Providence.

Howard was the owner of Total Image Barber Shop on Prairie Avenue, Providence. He was also a deacon at New Life Community Baptist Church.

Besides his mother, he is survived by sons, Jerry Hopper and Kradin Hopper, both of Providence, and Darryl Hopper of MD, daughter, Jeanette Wiggins of Providence, brothers, Stanley Hopper, Melvin Hopper, John Hopper and Dennis Hopper, all of Providence, 4 grandchildren and 8 great, grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Joe Hopper, James Hopper and Roger Hopper.

Funeral 11am Friday, January 8th, in Bright Funeral Home, 290 Public Street, Providence; viewing will begin at 10am. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
