Mary (Teacher) Hopper, 62, of Swan Street, Providence, died Sunday, October 12th, at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of Howard Hopper. Born in Greensboro, AL, the daughter of the late Jack Teacher and Susie (Evans) Teacher. She was a resident of the city for 65 years. Mrs. Hopper was employed as an attendant at the State of Rhode Island, Institute of Mental Health (IMH) until retirement. She was a member of New Life Community Baptist Church where she served as church mother and chairman of the missionary board. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Jerry Hopper, Darryl Hopper and Kradin Hopper, all of Providence, daughter, Jeanette Wiggins of Providence, sister, Sarah Fields of Greensboro, 12 grandchildren, and 9 great, grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Rosie Lee Johnson. Funeral 12 Noon Wednesday, October 15th, in Bright Funeral Home, 290 Public Street, Providence; viewing begins at 11am.
