James Harold Isom, 68, of Apollo Drive, East Providence, died Monday, January 18th, at home. He was the husband of Georganne (Nunes) Isom.

Born in Wilson County, NC, he was the son of the late John W. Isom and Elsie M. (Artis) Isom. He was a resident of the city for over 20 years.

James worked as an outreach case worker for the State of RI for over 20 years .

He is survived by sons, Shawn Isom of East Providence, James Nunes of North Providence, Timothy Isom of Johnston, Michael Isom of Attleboro, MA, Terry Griffin and Kevin Isom, both of Pawtucket, and Dennis Isom of Cranston, daughters, Sherry Isom of NY, Laurie Shorts of East Providence, Heidi Isom of San Diego, CA and Rene Griffin of Oakland, CA , Robin Griffin, Erin Isom, Diane Isom and Linda Isom, all of Providence, and Melody Johnson of N. Attleboro, MA , brother, John Isom of Fort Worth, TX, sisters, Rev. Mary Ann Jones and Ruby Johnson, both of Pawtucket, Sandy White of CA, Gail Sherrod of North Providence, and Norine Byrson of MA, 51 grandchildren and 20 great, grandchildren. He was the father of the late Harold "Sonny" Isom and Gina Isom .

Calling Hours 6-8pm Monday, January 25th, at Trinity Tabernacle, 745 North Broadway, East Providence. Cremation will follow.
