Bernice (Jones) Johnson, 75, of 1 Chestnut Street, Providence, died Wednesday, November 3 rd , at Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island. She was the wife of the late Rev. Claude Johnson Jr. Born in Zebulon, NC, she was the daughter of the late Garfield Jones and Maryetta (Ferrell) Jones. She was a resident of the city for 57 years. Bernice was employed by Rhode Island Hospital as a nursing assistant until retirement. She was also a member of New Hope Church of the Living God. She is survived by son, Claude Edward Johnson, daughter, Althea Winston, sister, Rosetta Onikoyi, all of Providence, 3 grandchildren and 1 great, grandchild. She was the sister of the late Kinley Jones and Clara Anthony. Funeral 11am Saturday, November 13 th , at Holy Cross Church of God In Christ, 1014 Broad Street, Providence. Cremation will follow.
