Willie Edward Johnson, 69, of 20 Whelden Avenue, East Providence, died Thursday, June 26th, at home. He was the husband of Bishop Annie (Brodie) Johnson.

Born in Lewisburg, NC, a son of the late James E. Johnson and Mary L. (Austin) Johnson. He was a resident of the city for 41 years.

Mr. Johnson served as Deacon at House of Prayer, Seekonk, MA.

Besides his wife, he is survived by sons, Eddie L. Johnson and Lawrence Johnson, both of Providence, and Willie G. Johnson of Lithonia, GA, daughters, Faith A. Johnson of Richmond, VA and Hope A. Johnson of Providence, brothers, Dr. James A. Johnson and Jerry Johnson, both of Greensboro, NC, sisters, Pearline Johnson and Shirley J. Moore, both of Greensboro, NC, and Janice F. Johnson of Franklinton, NC, 11 grandchildren and 5 great, grandchildren. He was the father of the late Scott G. Johnson and Stacy R. Johnson.

Funeral Service 11am Thursday, July 3rd, at House of Prayer, 38 Anthony Street, Seekonk; viewing begins at 10am. Burial will be at North Burial Ground, Providence.
