Mother Mary Lester Mitchell, age 83, of Zebulon, NC, and formerly of Providence, departed this life on Thursday, July 9, 2009.

Survivors: daughters, Ingria Baker of Wendell, Carol Thomas, Barbara Mitchell and Denise Brown, all of Providence; son, Byron Mitchell of Providence; sister, Delores Maloy of Georgia; brothers, Bishop John Mangum and Roy Mangum, both of Wendell, NC, Webster Mangum of Zebulon, NC and Douglas Mangum of Fuquay Varina, NC; 16 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Wednesday, July 15th, at 2:00PM at St. John United Holy Church, Zebulon. Burial will be at Mangum Family Cemetery. Visitation 3-8PM Tuesday at William Toney's Funeral Home, 216 Barbee Street, Zebulon, NC 27597.
