Edith M. (Hodge) Monteiro, 98, of 50 Maude Street, Providence, died Wednesday, November 17 th , at Elmhurst Extended Care. She was the widow of the late Anthony Monteiro. Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Hodge and Ethel (Ross) Hodge. She was a lifelong resident of the city. She is survived by sons, Evard Monteiro of East Providence, and Anthony Monteiro and Robert Monteiro, both of Providence, and daughters, Ethel Khanu, Mary Brown, Pauline Jones and Hazel Jones, all of Providence, and Antoinette Price of Warwick, 51 grandchildren and 135 great, grandchildren. Funeral 11am Wednesday, November 24 th , at Mount Zion Church of God, 375 Cahill Street, Providence. Burial will be at North Burial Ground, 5 Branch Avenue, Providence. Viewing/Visitation will be 7-9pm Tuesday in Bright Funeral Home, 290 Public Street, Providence.
