On June 16, 2008, in Jakarta, Indonesia at The Meridan Hotel, God sent his angel of mercy to pick another flower for his garden. Kevin Person passed away in his sleep after a brief illness.
Kevin was born on September 12, 1972 in Providence. He was the son of Deacon Walter Person and Evangelist Esther Person. He was the eldest of three children.
He was educated at St. Matthew's Catholic School in Cranston. Kevin graduated from Classical High School in Providence, where he also ran track. While at Classical, he was employed by The Burger King Corporation. After high school he was hired as a teacher's assistant for the Providence School Department. He also was employed by Brooks Drugs Corporation as a security guard. Later Kevin was offered the opportunity to play drums for The Band Starr, by Allen Williams, traveling all over Asia.
Kevin started playing the drums at age 4 with his father, Deacon Person. He played for the Mount Zion Junior Choir with his mother as the director, under the direction of Rufus Jackson and he late Aaron Williams. He played for the Greater Providence Community Chorale, Johnson & Wales University Choir, Brown University Gospel Choir, and Williams Evangelistic Church under the direction of Evangelist Priscilla Williams. Kevin also played for President Bill Clinton.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Kendra (Gillard) Person, his parents, Deacon Walter Person Sr. and Evangelist Esther (Randall) Person of Providence, three brothers, Rodney Williams of Fort Mitchell, AL, Joseph Person of Phoenix City, AL and Walter Person Jr. of Providence, one sister, Nakeisha Person of Atlanta, GA, and God-mother, Lillian Edney.
Funeral 10am Wednesday, July 2nd, at Elmwood Avenue Church of God, 297 Elmwood Avenue, Providence. Calling Hours 7-9pm Tuesday, also in church. Burial will be at Swan Point Cemetery.
