Joseph James Robinson Sr., 71, of Almy Street, Providence, died Monday, January 4th, at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center. He was the husband of Ruby Dell (Williams) Robinson.

Born in Wickford, he was the son of the late Daniel James Robinson and Onita Mae (Waite) Robinson.

Besides his wife, he is survived by sons, Joseph Robinson Jr., Michael Robinson, Larry Robinson, and Damien Robinson, all of Providence, and Leon Robinson, Joey Fugere and Kevin Fugere, all of Woonsocket, daughters, Dianna Thompson and Leesonja Robinson, both of Providence, Felicia Moore of Wilson, NC, Sherry Robinson of Beach Island, SC, and Crystal Fugere of Woonsocket, and 40 granchildren. He was the father of the late Rochelle Robinson and the brother of the late Phillip Robinson, Daniel Robinson, Nathaniel Robinson, Jeffrey Smith, Susan James, Florence Robinson and Eleanor Shaffer.

Funeral 12 Noon Monday, January 11th, in Bright Funeral Home, 290 Public Street, Providence; viewing begins at 11am. Cremation will follow.
