James Melvin Shaffer, 78, of 109 West Shore Road, Warwick, died Tuesday, August 3 rd , at West Shore Health Center. He was the husband of the late Ella Mae (Robinson) Shaffer. Born in Warwick, he was the son of the late Thomas E. Shaffer and Edith M. (McGuire) Shaffer. He was employed by Imperial Knife until retirement. James is survived by son, Warren Wilkinson of ND, daughter, Treasure Wilkinson of Providence, brother, Arthur Shaffer of East Providence, sisters, Alice C. Brown of Providence and Martha Brevard of Oakdale, CT, and 8 grandchildren. He was the father of the late Oranitta Shaffer and the brother of the late Mildred Hall. Funeral 11am Saturday, August 7 th , in Bright Funeral Home, 290 Public Street, Providence; Viewing begins at 10am. Cremation will follow.
