Howard Smith, Sr., 60, owner of Magic Brush, of 825 Main Street, Hope Valley, died Saturday, October 10th, at Westerly Hospital. He was the husband of Joan (Castagnaro) Smith.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late David Smith Sr. and Katherleen (Cline) Smith.

Besides his wife, he is survived by son, Howard Smith Jr. of Philadelphia, PA, daughters, Rhona Smith of Long Beach, CA and Violet Smith of Cranston, step-daughters, Jessica Young and Crystal Young, both of Westerly, brothers, David Smith Jr. and Leonard Smith, both of Providence, and 5 grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Sarah Jean Jackson.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, October 20th, at 11am in Bright Funeral Home, 290 Public Street, Providence.
