Dorothy Mae (Freeman) Thompson was born in Raleigh, NC to the late Walter Freeman and Lile Mae Freeman. They moved to Providence with their children and decided to make this their home.

Momma worked as a jewelry maker at Spiedel. From there she decided she wanted children. Only 5 foot 1 inch 100 lbs., this little lady started hairdressing. They opened a shop and started hair styling.

She departed this life, Tuesday, July 6th, a devoted wife to the late Oros Thompson. She is survived by son, Bobby Thompson, daughters, Bernice Goode, Dorothy Harris, Denise Rollman, Charlotte Thompson, and Christine Thompson, and sisters, Mildred Hollie, Carver Freeman, and Margie Jones. She was the mother of the late Ozebell Thompson, Leon Thompson, Melivinia Thompson, Larry Thompson, and Christopher Thompson. She was sister to the late Jarvis Thompson, Bert Thompson and Roxie Snead.

Funeral 11am Saturday, July 10th, in Bright Funeral Home, 290 Public Street, Providence; Viewing begins at 10am. Burial will be Tuesday, July 13th, at 9am in Oakland Cemetery, 1569 Broad Street, Cranston.
