Deacon William Michael Truell Jr., 86, of 58 Wilson Street, Providence, died Friday, May 23rd, at 48 Whitmarsh Street, Providence. He was the husband of Julia Truell. Born in Savannah, Georgia, a son of the late William Michael Truell Sr. and Ethel (Spencer) Truell. He was a resident of the city for 62 years. William was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. Deacon Truell also served faithfully at Pond Street Baptist Church for over forty years. Besides his wife, he is survived by son, William Michael Fournier of Providence, Yvonne Truell Jackson of Dallas, brother, Vernon S. Truell of Boston, MA, sisters, Vera T. Blake of Boston, MA and Laura T. Valentine of Savannah, GA and 6 grandchildren. Funeral 10am Friday, May 30th, at Pond Street Baptist Church, 75 Chester Avenue, Providence. Calling Hours 6:30 -9pm Thursday, also in church. Burial, with military honors, will be in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
