Torrence Waithe, 86, of 135 Tripps Lane, East Providence, died Saturday, October 10th, at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of the late Enrietta (Wright) Waithe. Born in Barbados, the son of the late Joseph Waithe and Eula (Jones) Waithe. He was a resident of the city for 38 years. Torrence had been employed as a maintenance supervisor for Miriam Hospital until retirement. He is survived by daughter, Patricia O'Connor of Johnston, grandson, Torrance S. Waithe, and 2 great, grandchildren. Funeral 11am Friday, October 16th, at Olney Street Baptist Church, 100 Olney Street, Providence. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
