Rev. James W. Walker Jr., 72, of 135 South Huntington Avenue, Jamaica Plain, MA, died Friday, November 27th, at The Sherrill House. He was the companion of Lucille Williams. Born in Birmingham, AL, the son of the late Bishop James W. Walker Sr. and Georgia Lou (Threats) Walker.He was a resident of the city for 37 years. Besides his companion, he is survived by sons, Evard Jones, Paul Jones, and Bruce Monroe, all of Providence, Marlon Walker of Inglewood, CA and Vernon Walker of Springfield, MA, daughter, Linda Monroe of Watertown, CT, brothers, David Walker of Goose Creek , SC, and Andrew Harris of Cranston, sisters, Arrine Almeida of Providence, Rosie Foley of Houston, TX, Pastor Minnie Williams of Douglasville, GA, and Pastor Louise Perry of Kissimmee, FL, and 13 grandchildren. He was the father of the late Lee Walker and the brother of the late Thomas Dew, Elliot Walker, Geneva Vanover, Mary Lou Powell and Jane Lou Walker. Funeral 11am Monday, December 7th , at Refuge Deliverance Tabernacle, 364 Prairie Avenue, Providence; viewing begins at 10am. Burial will be in North Burial Ground.
