Leonard T. Washington, Sr. , 71, of Governor Street, Providence, died Saturday, May 23rd, at Miriam Hospital. He was the companion of Patricia Washington.
Born in Providence, the son of the late Milton Washington and Mildred (Johnson) Washington.
Leonard worked as a foreman for Gorham-Textron and for the State of RI, Parks & Recreation. He was also a member of the Elks and the American Legion (Ortha Boone #69).
Besides his companion, he is survived by sons, Leonard T. Washington Jr. of Suwannee, GA, Kevin S. Washington of East Providence, and Craig A. Washington of Charlotte, NC, daughters, Tricia E. Washington of Charlotte, NC and Lauren J. Queen of Columbia, SC, sisters, Mildred Washington and Beverly Hall, both of North Providence, and Jeanette A. Washington of Cranston, 10 grandchildren and 3 great, grandchildren. He was brother of the late Elmer Washington, Clarence Washington, Arnold Washington, Robert Washington, Joseph Washington, June Washington and Rev. Harriet Mandis.
Funeral 10am Saturday, May 30th, at Cathedral of Life Christian Assembly, 1860 Westminster Street, Providence; Calling Hours 7-9pm Friday, also in church. Burial will be in North Burial Ground, Providence.
