Mary Lee (Smalls) Washington, 64, of 269 Rogers Lane, Middletown, died Monday, June 29th, at home. She was the companion of James Anthony Shultz. Born in Charleston County, SC, the daughter of the late Eugene Smalls and Evelena (Jones) Smalls. She was a resident of the city for 45 years. She had been employed by Rathelon and General Electric until retirement. Besides her companion, she is survived by son, Shaun Shultz of Providence, daughter, Pamela Gay of Virginia Breach, VA, brothers, Eugene Smalls of Albany, NY and Benjamin Smalls of Charleston, SC, sisters, Anell Smalls and Alma Hulback, both of Charleston, SC, and 6 grandhildren. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 4th, at 11am at Mount Zion Church of God, 375 Cahill Street, Providence. Calling Hours 5-8pm Friday, also in church.
