Born in Weston, GA, the daughter of the late Elijah White and Mattie (Pickett) White. She was a resident of the city for 49 years. She was also a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Besides her husband, Lillie is survived by daughters, Annette Lewis of Fayetteville, NC and Darlene Tavares of Providence, step-sons, Wilbert Townsend Jr. of Surprise, AZ and Marcel Griffin of Birmingham, AL, step-daughters, Gloria Augustine of Surprise, AZ and Monica Townsend of San Francisco, CA, brothers, Elijah “Sonny” White of Dania, FL and Moses White of Murfreesboro, TN, sisters, Luvinnie Florida, Yvonne Powell and Ellen Peterson, all of Dawson, GA, Nellie Davis and Irmagene Lloyd, both of Albany, GA, and Claudie M. Taylor of Fort Lauderdale, FL, 3 grandchildren, and a host of nephews, neices, and special friends. She was preceded in death by one grandchild. Funeral 11am Monday, September 21 st , in Bright Funeral Home, 290 Public Street, Providence; viewing beginning at 10am. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, 1569 Broad Street, Cranston.
