Bishop Alpha Wayne Williams, Sr., age 74, of Douglasville,GA, passed away May 18, 2009. He was born October 7, 1934 in Baker County, FL, son of the late Clayton Williams and Onie Ruise Williams. Bishop Williams pastored 27 years in Rhode Island before relocating to Douglasville. Surviving are his wife, Minnie Williams; sons, Alpha Williams, Jr, Elliott Sutton, Allen Harris and Phillip Sutton; daughters, Priscilla Williams and Elaine Harris; sister, Virginia Williams and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Whitley-Garner at Rosehave Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 8640 Rose Avenue, Douglasville, GA, on Thursday, May 21, 2009 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Mizell Funeral Home, 365 NW Washington Street, Lake City, FL immediately followed by burial at Quitman Cemetery, Sanderson, FL.
