Gregory S. Williams, 49, a musician, of 41 Trask Street, Providence, died Monday, March 30th, at home. Born in Vicksburg, MS, the son of Bennie Williams Sr. of Providence and the late Minnie L. (Barnes) Williams. He was a resident of the city for 46 years. Gregory played guitar, keyboards and bass for many bands including The Benton Brothers and most recently with All the Difference and Twice As Nice. He also worked at The Met School, Brown University and the Davey Lopes Recreational Center. Gregory is survived by sons, Gregory Feole of Pawtucket and James Jackson of Providence, sisters, Alma Lee Adegunsola of Woonsocket, and Coretta R. Fonseca and Gayleen Antonia Williams, both of Providence, and 1 grandchild. He was the brother of the late Bennie Joe Williams Jr. Funeral 11am Saturday, April 4th, at Mount Zion Church of God, 375 Cahill Street, Providence. Cremation will follow.
