Shirley May (Walker) Wright, 71, a retired nursing assistant, of Oakland Avenue, Providence, died Monday, June 7th, at home. She was the wife of James H. Wright.

Born in Camden County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Thell Walker Sr. and Alexgener (Woodland) Walker. She was a resident of the state of RI for over 40 years.

Besides her husband, she is survived by son, Linwood Beale Jr. of Providence, daughter, Vivian Beale of Providence, brothers, Joseph Walker, Wayne Walker, Maurice "Buddy" Walker, all of Providence, Marcellious "Butch" Walker of VA, and Dwight Walker of CT, sisters, Gerlean Harden of Providence and Dellilah Dupree of Chesapeake, VA, 8 grandchildren and 4 great, grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Thell "Horn" Walker Jr. and Mavis (Walker) Wynn.

Funeral 11am Thursday, June 17th, in the Bright Funeral Home; viewing begins at 10am. Burial will be in North Burial Ground.
