Annie Lee McFarland aka “Bunchie,” departed this life on Thursday, March 21, 2019 in Providence, RI at the age of 62.
She was born on October 6, 1956 in Attala, AL to the late Georgia Lee Billups and Oscar Lee McCloud. Her late aunt and uncle Elnora and Rev. John T. McFarland adopted her. Annie was educated in the Providence School System.
Annie was a hard worker; her earliest employment was Cibea Gigy, Cranston, RI where she worked for 10 years. She also, worked for several different departments for The State of Rhode Island; The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), The Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF), and retired in 2016 from The Department of Environment Management (DEM) for a total of 28 years of state service. She was an “Avon Lady” for approximately 20 years.
She leaves to mourn her memories: her Husband, Samuel Leslie of 45 years, (1) daughter Leticia McFarland , (3) Grandchildren; Daisah (Roger) Santos, Walter, Jr., and Shaylah King; (2) son-in-laws, Walter King, Sr., and Ahmand Sullivan; her siblings; (5) sisters; Billie (Dale) Miller, Mary (Flenoy, Jr.) Moore, Angela (Tommy) Russell all of AL., Bonnie (David) McCormick of Cranston, RI, (3) brothers; Oscar Lee McCloud, Jr., of Biloxi, MS, Robert (Christine) McCloud of Detroit, MI, Cleveland (Michelle) Billups of AL. (2) sister-in-laws; Rachel Leslie of Jacksonville, FL, Linda Agoro (Kunle) of Cranston, RI, (5) brother-in-laws; Ralph (Sharon) of West Palm Beach, FL, Neally of Providence, RI, Lamar of Albany GA, and Dwight Leslie of Miami, FL. and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death; her parents, Elnora & Rev. John T. McFarland, Georgia Lee Billups & Oscar Lee McCloud, her son; Samuel Lee McFarland, sisters; Julia & Brenda Robinson and Kimberly Billups, brothers; Marvin and Herman Johnson, nieces; Car ‘Lisa McFarland, Althea Kimbrough, brother-in-law, Elder Alphonso, Sr., and nephew Alphonso, Jr. Robinson.
