Bennie Brown Williams, 85, of 61 Woodman Street, Providence, transitioned to his eternal home on November 26th. 

Born on November 13, 1932 in Vicksburg, MS to the late Earnest Hamp Williams and Alma (Bishop) Cook.  He was married to the late Minnie (Barnes) Williams for 34 years and to this union were born five children. He received his education in the Vicksburg, MS school system.  He served in the United States Army for 3 years and 11 years working with the Army Corp Engineers Water Levy as a civilian and professional Chef.  He received a National Defense Service Metal, Korean Service Medal, UN Service Medal, ROK President Unit Citation, and an Honorable discharge. He earned a certificate and became a licensed electrician from New England School of Technology 

For a short-time he worked as a driver for his father’s cab company in Vicksburg, MS. He came to Providence in 1962 where he resided until his departure.  Bennie was employed by Grinnell in Cranston and retired from General Dynamics Electric Bolt of Quonset Point in North Kingstown after working 18 years.

He was a member of Holy Tabernacle under the late Bishop David Russell, a deacon at Tabernacle Baptist Church under the late Reverend Earl Harley, and attended Second Free Will Baptist Church under Reverend Charles Coverdale.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Luann Turilli-Williams of Providence, daughters, Alma Adegunsola of Woonsocket, and Coretta Williams and Gayleen Williams, both of Providence, brothers, George Cook of Springfield, MA (Thelma), Johnny Cooke of Riverview, FL (Jo-Elise), and Dr. Earnest Williams Jr. of Vicksburg, MS, 11 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Bennie Joe Williams and Gregory Williams, and the brother of the late Joe Williams.
