Diona Nicole McLain, 33, died unexpectedly at the Roger Williams Medical Center on Friday, May 24, 2019. Born in Pawtucket to Sheila McLain and Eugene Wallace, she was raised by Sylvia Counts.
Throughout her life, Diona was eager to offer a helping hand, she would always give her best efforts to those who needed them. Diona was a firecracker, she lit up a room with her presence alone. You would often find her in the center of a crowd, rapping (poorly) or singing. Her family always relied on her to make their days brighter with her boisterous laugh and bright white smile. Diona was a chef of sorts who specialized in cooking seafood, her best dishes always featured succulent and spicy crab.
Diona brought four beautiful children into this world, Darjnae McLain, Rayona McLain, Karlyssa Black and Carl Black. Diona loved her children more than she loved anything else, she was proud to be their mother and offered her loving support whenever she could. Aside from her parents and grandmother, she is survived by her siblings; Eugene McLain, Ephriam Durrett, Demetrius Durrett and Christine McLain; Aunties and Uncles; Evan McLain, Regina Fisher, Larry McLain and Sabrina Taylor. She also leaves behind a host of cousins, family and friends.
Diona was friendly and loving. She was a bright light in the lives of her friends and family; she will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
