Iniko (Niko) Kareem Gordon was born May 8th, 1974, to Elder Charles H. and Tessie L. Gordon, in Hyannis, MA, where he grew up. Niko graduated from Barnstable High School in 1992. In his youth, Iniko thoroughly enjoyed Little League and Barnstable Recreational Sports. Then he began his employment as a Landscaper.
He then worked also at DJ's Wings, Joyce Landscaping, and Maffei Landscaping. After leaving The Cape, Niko became a licensed Realtor for Keller Williams. He also worked as a Manager at Mattress Firm and also Radio Shack. Then Iniko began employment at American Airlines, until his demise. He died after a lifelong battle with Type I Diabetes.
Besides his loving parents, Iniko is survived by the love of his life, Kumba Mayah, brother Charles H. (Luz) Gordon, Charlotte, NC, sisters, Marjorie Gordon Orie, Cleveland, NC, Danielle Gordon, Dennisport, MA. Nephew Derek Gordon, Charlotte, NC, nieces, Lauren Ardolino, Providence, RI, Carli Gordon, Charlotte NC, aunts Margaret (Kenneth) Strachan, Pohokee, FL, Dorothy (Dot) Gordon, Ft. Pierce, FL, and others. Also, grieving him are his in laws, Tamba and Nancy Mayah.
Two stepdaughters, Iyana and Tiffany Gregory, Dallas, TX, many cousins, and loving family and friends. Over the years, because of his winning and addictive personality, Niko developed lifelong strong friendships. He was predeceased by his nephew Michael Gordon.
Iniko’s quick wit and sense of humor will last a lifetime in our memories. His other great love was the New England Patriots! However, he did love any Boston sports.
