Kateri Tekawitha Fry

Kateri Tekawitha Fry, 59, lost her battle with Breast Cancer on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at the Hope Hospice & Palliative Care Center on North Main Street in Providence. Kateri was born in Hartford, CT to the late Frank and Mildred (Babcock) Leone. 

Kateri was a dedicated wife to Jonathan Starks. She was also a devoted member of the Narragansett Tribe - she raised her three children to embrace their Native blood and form unshakable relationships within the tribe. Aside from her husband, she is survived by her three children, Joshua, Edward and Terri. 

Kateri spent her working years as a Housekeeper, she build a strong bond with her teams and was passionate about providing clean and comfortable spaces for the clients she served.

Kateri was a warm light in the life of many, often smiling and laughing with those she loved. She is survived by siblings, her tribe, a host of cousins, other family and friends.
