Kathy Gee

Kathy Gee was born in Shelby N.C. on October 10, 1958, died unexpectedly at her home on Friday, May 17, 2019.  Kathy was the fifth daughter of the late Johnny Moore and Evelyn Moore -Melton.   The sister of late Johnny Mae Moore, Rita Moore and surviving sisters; Gladys Hill of Lawndale N.C., Mary Kay-Lynn Harris, Beryl Ross, and George Anne Keith, and adopted brother Kenny Sowell all of Providence, RI

Kathy enjoyed going on consistent date nights with her long-time best friend and companion Ted Shallcross.  Kathy was also blessed with a host of nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews in which she often referred to (all) as her children.   

Kathy started her work at the Providence Police Department in 2015.  She was known by her fellow co-workers and the Providence Police for her thoughtfulness and carefulness.  She worked for the city of Providence in 2003 as the secretary of the city’s external review board (PERA).  

Kathy training and education was in the medical field.  She spent over 12 years working for Lifespan of RI. And was a graduated of Community College of RI.  Kathy was very talented and could do almost anything she set her mind to do.

In the late 1980’s Kathy was identified by many women, as one of the best license beautician in Providence.  She loved to cook and feed everyone who she came in contact with.  But most of all, she loved preparing food for her family in which she did often.   

Kathy will truly be missed by her family, friends and co-workers.  The community has lost a loving, caring and spiritual woman.  – May she sleep in peace
