Viola Annette (Jones) Ross

VIOLA was born VIOLA ANNETTE JONES to James Jones (Angel Jones) And Mariah Tolbert McKinney (Welton McKinney) who precede her in death in August 1973 and stepmother Betty Jones who also precede her in death in July 19, 1996. She was married to the Late Herman Lee Miller until 1986.

She is survived by her husband Anthony Ross, children, grandchildren and great grandson Teresa Chauntale Jones( Da’Breez-JA, Chynah, Ja’Quan, Taleeka and Jai’Vyon (great-grandson) and  son Walter Elijah James Harris, She was the second eldest of 13 siblings on both her mother and father side: Bertha George Precede in death in December 1998, Charles Jones, Shelby  McKinney, Curtis McKinney, Sandra (McKinney ) Bauldwin, Napoleon Jones, Kattie Jones, Gregory Jones, Betty McKinney, Glenda Jones, Jason Jones and Welton McKinney JR. along with  7 stepsiblings, along 33 nieces and nephews and a host of extended family.

She went to Lake View Elementary and C.V. White High School of Lake View, Arkansas. She Obtain a degree in Accounting from a College in Buffalo, New York. She lived in Arkansas, Mississippi, New York, Virginia, and Return her to Rhode Island in the 1991-2019.

She began her Christian walk at St. Luke Church of God in Christ in Elaine, Arkansas; where she met her lifelong sister friend in Christ Lenora Marshall and continue that walk of faith throughout her life. She made her church home at Holy Cross C.O.G.I.C here in Providence, Rhode Island under the covering of the late Bishop Robert E. Farrow where she also met life long friends that include Evangelist Beatrice (Wray) Miller and Prophetess Doctor Kimberly Littlejohn. Throughout her stay her in Providence she made many friends and touch numerous lives.  She is truly and will be eternally loved and missed. Rest in Heaven.
