Dona Ellis Obituary

Dona May Ellis, 61, of Pawtucket died on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. Born in Boston, MA to the late Arthur and Ada DeChellis, she was one of six children, she is predeceased by a brother, David DeChellis.

Dona was a loving mother of two, Abraham Rahed and Sharon Withee. She was predeceased by her best friends, Sue and Debbie. These women were essential staples in Dona's life, she was rarely without either of them. When she was a younger woman, she was known as an expeditor and designer for J&G Jewelers until she retired in 2009. Upon retiring, she found the drive to pick up fun hobbies, such as bingo and trips to the different casinos in the tristate area.

When Dona wasn't watching slots, she was watching her shows: Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons, Golden Girls and Days of Our Lives. She was a very strict fan of her soap operas, her children knew that between 1-2p every afternoon that if they needed something, they'd have to wait!

She was in touch with her Italian roots, often cooking delicious meals for the family's Sunday Dinner where she frequently presented her famous meatballs and macaroni salad, with a special appearance by her infamous broccoli and cheese dish. She also loved sitting on the patio of the Windjammer Restaurant drinking her favorite drinks while she watched the waves crash on the beach. Dona loved Facebook games like Candy Crush and she especially loved camping with her grandchildren, the most memorable trip being Atlantic City. Dona was a very unique person with a personality which filled the room with life and laughter. She was eccentric and spontaneous.

Dona was what someone would call a spit-fire, she was overall very passionate about the things she enjoyed. She was a blessing to her children, grandchildren and friends. Aside from her children, her memory is shared amongst her siblings; Arthur DeChellis, Regina Bates, Kathy MacDonald and Pam DeChellis, all of Massachusetts. She was a dedicated grandmother, her granddaughter Aneizya Withee was usually by her side. She is survived by her other loving grandchildren; Paul Rahed, Nelson Rahed, Kyle Xavier and Jared Rahed, as well as Manuel Aponte and Jayvian Aponte all of East Providence. As well as one great-grandchild.
