Dora (Turner) Nelson

Dora Nelson, 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2019. 

Born in Newport, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Ethel (Watson) Turner. She was one of seven children. She was predeceased by her siblings, Donald Fortes; as well as her two step-children, L.C. Nelson and Irene (Nelson) Collins. She is survived by her siblings, Dianne Wheat, Duchess Street, Ronnie Nelson, Alice (Nelson) Anderson and Jesse Nelson. 

She was a homemaker for many years and devoted her time to being a mother to all of her children. Dora was a faithful member of the Olney Street Baptist Church for more than fifty years. When she became sick, she was unable to attend church. 

She leaves behind six grandchildren, Elaina Nelson, Karrie (Nelson) Bruce, Anthony Nelson, Mildred Beck, Elizabeth Harding and Angel M. Cunningham. She will be especially missed by her great-granddaughter Moriah Nelson, as well as a host of other great-grandchildren,  nieces, nephews and friends.
