Our brother and Uncle, Harvey H. Baker, 66, passed away on Friday, September 10th, after a brief illness.
Born in Providence, Harvey was the second oldest child of the late Henry and Anita (Rodriques) Baker.
To cherish his memory, Harvey leaves behind his sister Leslie Baker of Providence, Loren George of Cranston, Vaughn Baker of California, Alison Baker-Speaks of North Dakota, Andrea (Wayne) Jones of North Carolina, Angela (Larry) Harris of Providence. Step sister Charlene Amado (Georgia). In addition to his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by his son, the late Harvey Proffit his brother the late Guy Baker. In addition to his siblings, Harvey leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews across the country and even over seas who he left the memories of a love of hot sauce, crazy morning ponytails, silly nicknames and unconditional love.
Harvey took the role as oldest son to heart and was a fierce protector of all the women in his life. From his mother, to his sisters right on down to his nieces. It didn't matter how old you were or how long it has been since you seen him. You were still his baby and he was going to look after you in a way only he could.
Harvey was known to many and his loss will be greatly felt but his family takes comfort in knowing that his heart and soul are at finally at peace.
