Levan Anderson, 69, died Sunday, June 5th, at Berkshire Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Greeleyville, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Van and Josephine Anderson.
His family moved to Providence, Rhode Island in 1959 where he attended the Providence school system. Levan was the top basketball player at Central High School in the late 60’s early 70’s and graduated in 1972. He was very well known in providence for his basketball skills where he developed the nickname “Rook” from all of his peers. He attended Pensacola Junior College and Stetson University where continue to excel in his basket career which brought him the opportunity to briefly play in a professional over seas league. He was a resident of the city of Providence for 63 years.
Levan is survived by his sisters, Dorothy Keels and Althea Marrow, both of Richmond, VA, and Allison Anderson of Philadelphia, PA, and brothers, Jimmy Lee Keels of Greenleyville, SC and Stanley Anderson of Providence.
