Mildred Washington 89, of North Providence, passed away on Sunday, January 14th at The Miriam Hospital after a short illness.
She was the daughter of the late Milton F. and Mildred F. (Johnson) Washington. Mildred worked at Jewel Case in Providence until she retired. She also worked for the Foster Grandparent Program during her retirement. She leaves a host of nieces and nephews. She was the mother to the late Rodney Washington and sister to the late Rev. Harriet Mandis, Beverly Hall, Jeanette, June, Elmer, Clarence, Arnold, Robert, Leonard and Joseph Washington.
Mildred Washington loved the Lord and her family; she would reminisce of the good times they had shared. Mildred was the sole driver for her sisters for many years; traveling to various church services, doctor's appointments or just hanging out for the day. She had received her ministerial license and enjoyed sharing the word of God with others. She was a giving person and was always ready to help in any way she could, Mildred last attended Zion Gospel Temple in East Providence, she will be missed.
