Stephen Warren Mooney

Stephen W. Mooney, 69, of Providence died on January 27, 2019 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. Born in Boston, MA to the late Mildred and Joseph Mooney he was one of two. 

Stephen played Football and was a GQ dresser at Marshfield High School until he graduated in 1967, afterwards, he attended the Mass Maritime Academy. Stephen went on to become a Master Carpenter. Stephen was an avid sports fan, he loved representing his home teams out of Boston. He was ecstatic to know the Patriots would be playing the Super Bowl once again in just a few short days. Stephen had another hobby, music. When he was just a teen, he picked up his first guitar. Stephen kept up with the music of his times, always leaning towards Classic Rock, if you spent any time with Stephen while he held a guitar, you were sure to hear some of the classics, Bob Dylan's ‘Like a Rolling Stone’, America's ‘Horse with No Name’ or Lou Reed's ‘Walk on the Wild Side.’ Stephen was part of a band during his late teens, but the band ultimately fell apart because of disorganization.

He leaves behind a loving daughter, Coryna ‘Cory’ Mooney-Rogers of Valdosta, GA. His memory is treasured by his grandchildren, Joshua Shane Bryant, Mason Shawn Mooney-Rogers, Colton David Rogers all of GA. He also leaves behind a sister, Ginny Kelley and his dedicated niece and nephew, Lisa Williams and Sean Acker.
