Eugene Matthews

Eugene "Hazelwood" Matthews, 79, of Charles Street, Providence, died Tuesday, November 15th, at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center.  He was the husband of Sarah (Collins) Matthews of Georgetown, DE.

Born in Seaford, DE, he was the son of Colardge and Eleanor (Nichols) Matthews.

Besides his wife, he is survived by sons, Tyrone “Ronnie” A. Cannon Sr., Darryl Matthews and Kinyock Matthews, all of Seaford, DE, Tyrone N. Matthews of Anchorage, AK, Timothy Matthews of New Castle, DE, Brian Johnson of Pawtucket, and Brad Matthews of Providence, daughters, Teresa Simms and Kaawa Johnson, both of Providence, Konya McKenzie of Pawtucket, Annzonia Johnson and Teresa Johnson, both of Newport, Venita Ross and Melvona Holley of Seaford, DE, and Antoinette Martinez of Chesapeake, step-sons, Sherwood Joyne of Millsboro, DE and Terrence Joyne of Corpus Christi, TX, step-daughters, Regine Postley of Long Neck, DE and Norissa Sears if Georgetown, DE, and sisters, Essie Lee Davis of Middletown, DE.
